Alex Maksiov recently completed a mural in Kiev, Ukraine for the ArtUnitedUs initiative, curated by Geo Leros, Iryna Kanishcheva, Waone Interesni Kazki.
About the message behind the mural Alex said: “The bird on my mural symbolized the freedom which is watching for people who is in the window through the bulb lamp. Bulb lamp is sphere-barrier between humanity and freedom.”

Freedom

Alex has been drawing consciously since 1990. From 1995 till 2000 was studying in Odessa Art College (Ukraine) on the painting specialty. Then, in 2001 continued education in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kiev,Ukraine and got mastrer’s degree on the specialty of Restoration of canvas oil paintings in 2007. He has been doing 3d street painting since 2010 and involved in projects with famous street artists group.

ArtUnitedUs – is an international project that collaborates through artistic and creative mediums with communities to raise public awareness and attention to the problem of war, aggression and violence. 200 walls will be painted during the next 2 years, starting from Kiev (The Capital of Ukraine) and without boundaries around the world.
