New Mural by INO in Cyprus

It is the first parliament building in the world with a contemporary large scale mural on it, and has a message against bad politicians. The research & publication department of the parliament of Cyprus organized some urban interventions in the city and they invited INO to create something on their building. He came up with some ideas that were censored but finally his last proposal was approved probably because they did not understand the symbolism of the artwork. The title is “Ignorance is Bliss”  and it was made in Nicosia, Cyprus 2016. It depicts Solon & Pericles, two of the most important representatives of “democracy”,  the political system that was born in Greece. Their eyes are covered with paint so they cannot see how their ideas were used by some governments to serve interests.
