Jacky Chamoun, who is representing Lebanon at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, is being fiercely attacked by the Lebanese Media after some photos resurfaced of the Olympian who posed topless for an Austrian sports calendar 3 years ago.
Some Local news media have been referring to the photo shoot as a scandal, and the Youth and Sports Ministry asked Lebanon’s Olympic committee to look into the case and to launch an investigation and to take the required steps so that Lebanon’s reputation is not harmed. (Yes we definitely need to keep our stellar corruption and mayhem reputation to remain intact!).
Meanwhile, some women and men took it upon themselves to demonstrate support to the athlete by posting almost-naked photos of themselves on an I Am Not Naked facebook page, with the hashtag “#StripForJackie”, in hopes to highlight how the media and the government aim to tarnish the image of a confident woman who is representing her country in the Olympics, rather than focusing on important issues women deal with on a daily basis…in less than 48 hours, that Facebook page reached a whopping 14000 likes and counting!
