Said Dokins in Europe

Mexican artist Said Dokins is touring Europe and is progressively unveiling new hypnotic murals.

About the murals:

This year the festival took place in a small textile factory, which was abandoned just after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The artist’s project attempts to elaborate a reflection on history and the marks that certain events leave behind. In Germany, the former division remains somewhat visible, especially through architecture, economy, politics and people’s lifestyle.

Another installation from ‘The Hidden Text’ series was exhibited at the OpenSpaceGallery located in Halle, in an abandoned neighborhood, that is going through a recovery process. OpenSpaceGallery has created a recovery program through art, creating murals among other strategies of neighborhood improvement which favor dialogue with the community. Currently, they are building community gathering places, including a park, music jams and discussion spaces.
