Supreme Dutch mural masters, Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann met at the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2012, and officially partnered up as Telmo Miel in 2017.

The unstoppable pair quickly gained international acclaim, and have created murals and exhibited in galleries in Dubai, the United States, Malta, Denmark, Sicily, Holland, Portugal, Germany, Finland, Australia, Norway, Belgium, Beirut and beyond.

Known for their surreal, detailed and colorful art; they adeptly work free-hand and in tandem, often exchanging places and seamlessly completing each other’s work. Miel’s picturesque and dreamy style combined with Telmo’s naughty and provocative one results in multi-layered and complex pieces – often epic in scale. Their collaborations are arresting, insanely detailed and most of all, astonishingly beautiful.

Their newly completed “Exquisite Waste of Time” mural is part of the KIRK Gallery’s Out In The Open 2019 Festival, which accompanies their solo show.

With this exemplary new mural, Telmo Miel challenge us to consider whether our constant impatience and desire for everything to go at lighting speed leads to something better at the end.

“Every loss of minutes feels as a waste. Feelings aren’t always correct.
Sometimes I find myself worrying about the driver in front of me doing 100 while he’s allowed to do 130. Or people standing in front of the entrance of a store not knowing whether to go left or right. Annoying as that can be, I always remind myself to take a breath, because haste is often egocentric.
We love efficiency, because time is short.  But more time does not necessarily mean a better quality of time.
So let’s keep this short and sweet, so it doesn’t feel as a waste.  Let’s just try to make any waste of time feel like an exquisite one.” – Telmo Miel.
