Either way, the experience of any one place is different for every person inhabiting that place. Rankings like those provided by US News incorporate metrics considering cost …

Interview with Pat Perry

Sami Wakim Sami Wakim May 24, 2017

Pat Perry is an American artist and illustrator based in the Detroit area. He likes to spend his time drawing, painting, listening to music, reading and writing, even when he believes that fundamentally pictures speak louder than words. His street art works are often a mixture of social injustice and his native Midwestern sensibilities. I connected with Pat …

Sami Wakim Sami Wakim October 28, 2014

Mason was born in London and have been a native for 40 years. He never attended a ‘normal’ art college, his artistic education began when he was about 12 or 13. One night while attending his local youth center, his Judo class was cancelled and so he wandered into the art class where his friend …

Muhammad Nour Elkhairy ( @_m.khairy ) is a Palesti Muhammad Nour Elkhairy ( @_m.khairy ) is a Palestinian filmmaker, video artist, film programmer, and editor from Jordan, currently based in Montreal.

Shared on the 73rd anniversary of the Nakba—a historical rupture that displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, including his own family in 1948—this short experimental video examines the act of travel as both a longing and a limitation. Drawing from lived experience, Elkhairy reflects on how movement, often taken for granted, becomes a political terrain for Palestinians.

This work is currently on view at the @lostpaintingsproject exhibition presented by @unboundvisualarts in Boston.
