For the recent Muro Urbano project in Buenos Aires, Argentina, last week Milu Correch completed Conjuro Contra Inseguridades, (Winx Against Insecurities).  Located in Berazategui, the new mural is Inspired by the work of César Bustillo, a famous painter and muralist who lived in the district.

About the Mural

Spanning vertically along a 30-meter-high wall, Correch depicts a half-naked woman standing, whose face is covered while holding a book and surrounded by 3 fighting roosters. An interesting aspect in design is Correch’s outstanding use of spray, which makes the work seem like an age-old portrait.

Milu in now working on her witches series and decided to use it as an inspiration to reflect the style of César Bustillo’s rooster paintings. Bustillo’s work, a local famous painter from Berazategui, can be found all over the city.

About the Artist

Milu Correch is an Argentinean graffiti artist known for creating imaginative  large-scale murals and illustrations. She began painting in the streets of her hometown, in Buenos Aires in 2012. Her subjects focus mainly on mythological and anthropomorphic figures, fusing classic, ancient and Latin American iconography with characters from modern myths.

Although she’s seen as an ambassador for female street-artists, Milu does not see street-art as a place for gender binary; It is rather a place for all people to express themselves. Milu shares her perceptions with all street artists, in the hopes that future generations will not be subjected to this dichotomy.
