In July, the Swiss street-art duo Christian Rebecchi and Pablo Togni of NEVERCREW painted a mural along a building which will soon be the new STISA SA packages center in Cadenazzo, Switzerland. As the hub is nestled between an area that blends industrial and natural landscapes, it inspired the creation of the work “Shifting Machine.”
A building’s structure will often be directive of an artists concept when creating a mural, and “Shifting the Machine” is just that. From the movement that will start inside the building once it’s open, sorting national packages traffic for the southern region of Switzerland, to its position and location, set between an industrial area, houses and a sprawling countryside, NEVERCREW fuses these elements through two distinctive color palettes and illustrations.
Thinking about a symbolical net, along the wall is a twine of transfers that seem like projected thoughts, depicting a production line that’s both mechanical and human. The result is an impressive mural where the human system and the natural system are interconnected in a continuous and mutual mutation. A mutation that is in part automatic and spontaneous, but also the consequence of direct actions and choices that could interfere and redefine the path and the balance.
