Last week, Italian artist MACS was invited by Draw The Line Festival to paint a new striking mural in Campobasso, Italy.

About The Mural

“It is not a game” is the title of the new mural signed by MACS in Italy. The wall depicts some of the most important politicians in the world (like Trump, Putin, etc.) that, from the warmth of their cozy cabin, play, bicker, have fun and fight at the expense of the whole planet, as if it was a game in which only they can make the rules and roll the dice. As the artist states “But this is not the case, the war, the real one is not a game, and in the war, the real one, there are only losers … IT’S NOT A GAME”.

The mural wants to denounce ironically the power exercised by the leaders of the planet who, with superficiality, decide the destinies of the world population without really caring about humanity. However, irony ends up turning into a definite warning: It’s not a game!

The work is therefore a hymn to peace and respect for humanity.
For the artist this work is very important, because 15 years ago, he painted a wall in the same city titled “It is not a game!”. So this painting is a tribute to the city that has often hosted him, with a modern but more contemporary reinterpretation of his old piece.

About The Artist

Antonello Piccinino, also known as Macs, is an Italian graffiti artist, graphic designer, and illustrator who, since the 1990s, actively participates in the growth of the graffiti movement. His murals can be found both in Italy and abroad, having participated in many international street art festivals around the world.

His style is characterized by a choice of subjects that are characters (portraits and images). His original characters go around the world, sometimes dreamy, other times melancholy, funny or sarcastic, but what is really important is their disarming expressive ability, as they are not only aesthetically relevant but they have so much to tell. They do not stand in the streets of the cities as a simple work of art, but to stimulate a thought and resonate with the passersby. The artist therefore engages in social issues, denouncing problems and injustices.

About The Festival

Draw The Line Festival was born in 2011 in Campobasso (Italy) and is one of the most important Italian graffiti and street art festivals organized by the Malatesta association of Campobasso.
Not only a festival of street art, but a way to redevelop the most deprived areas of the territory and to show to guests the beauty of the region: clean air, good food, quietness, outdoor sports, art.
The first edition was funded with public money; from the second edition till now, the association realized the festival on their own, believing in what it does, giving to the city something new to see, to talk about and to be known, free from every binding.
