A new project organized by Iryna Kanishcheva, former curator of Art United Us, one of the biggest mural projects in the world that took place in Kyiv, Ukraine, and the founder of the first Urban arts program in North Florida, 352walls, celebrated her newest business endeavor, the independent urban art agency GNV URBAN ART LLC by inviting the Italian artist Peeta to Gainesville, Florida.  The artist, known creating murals with an anamorphic effect transformed the exterior of the 204 Building into a 3D optical illusion, that’s both a stunning and unique addition to the area.

About the Mural

To celebrate the establishment of her new agency, Kanishcheva invited the Italian artist to paint a mural his signature 3D style onto the 57-foot width of the 204 Building.

The composition of the mural has not only transformed the 204 Building with striking geometric shapes in light and dark hues of blues and browns that seem as though they’re protruding from the building, it combines math, science, art and an interaction between the environment surrounding the structures area. The artist cleverly used a tone-on-tone sculptural effect, as seen with the blue shade at the top of the mural that’s identical to the sky, to gives it a wonderful sense of transparency.

Taking nearly a year to organize, the project was made possible in collaboration with Ryan Frankel, President of Frankel Media Group, building owner Joseph Semrani and the Community Redevelopment Agency.
