Mexican Calligraffiti artist Said Dokins takes part in the 8th edition of the BLOOP International Proactive Art Festival in Ibiza’s OpenAir.Gallery project. He leaves a pair of murals on a school playground as his contribution under the theme HOPE.

About The Mural

The facades were created together with the children from the same institution. After asking each student what Ibiza represented to them he painted every single word with his unique calligraphy style which is a fusion of the west and east: weaving the children who carry the future and the murals together.

About BLOOP Festival

The Ibizan avant-garde Festival that is going onto its 8th consecutive edition holds a gallery under the blues skies. This OpenAir.Gallery is a long-term project to change the urban landscapes of an entire island, and it was one of the first since its inception back in 2011. It truly embodies the festival’s ethos “ART IS FOR EVERYBODY”. Currently, it continues to grow its collection reaching nearly 30 murals and installations scattered across the island. This year the likes of Said Dokins and SpY who participated for the first time and Spaik and Ino will come back for their third time to the festival.

For this year’s edition entitled “HOPE”, BLOOP will prove once again how art as a language changes and evolves. When the Festival started off back in 2011, street art was the form that disseminated a clear message efficiently to a younger and greater audience. Whereas now technology is starting to be the new universal language.

The Festival is running from the 23 Aug until the 8th Sept., there will be more to come! Stay tuned!
