Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann aka TelmoMiel have just completed this breathtaking mural for the Artding Festival in Germany, demonstrating the evolution of their style. The mural is cleaner, crisper and richer in contrast than their past work.  The duo have intentionally simplified their style to focus on what matters most to them as artists, adding a subtle comic touch to this piece. This year’s line up at Artding Festival has included Zoer, Mr. Woodland, Georgia Hill and Ate Crew.

The Dutch duo met at the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2007.  Miel was already an established graffiti artist, and once the two had become acquainted; Telmo realized his potential as a muralist and got to work with spray paint, taking to the form right off the bat.

The pair then went on to join the Sober-Concept Store (a new studio and shop space founded by their fellow academy friends, Sober Industries) and ‘TelmoMiel’ became official in October 2012.

As the collaboration progressed between TelmoMiel and all the other creatives based at the Sober Store, the overall platform was named Sober Collective: a team and family of creatives each with their own skillset, resulting in endless conceptual combinations being brought to life.

Working together seamlessly, TelmoMiel are known for their hyper-realistic, high contrast, life size murals. They work separately on ideas and come together with the sketches to see if combinations will then translate into murals. They always work in tandem and swap places whenever they wish or need to. The results are continually astounding.
